Rainmaker Software's Work Study Groups provide and on-going opportunity for owners to improve their business skills by learning and applying the business strategies that make businesses successful. Basis profit, sales, cash and asset management principles are reviewed and reinforced.

Each owner learns how to use the Planning and Product Mix Systems along with The Competitive Edge to improve profits and sales, become more predatory in the marketplace, achieve pro-active inventory management and aggressively play in the more profitable niches of the market.

Also covered in learning how to read and understand the Balance Sheet. Owners learn the vocabulary of business and they learn how to read the story told by their Balance Sheet. They learn that their financial statements are their credit applications to the world.

Members of this group help the host owner "rip off the blinders" and get a better perspective about their business and how they are doing. Our employees tell us what they think we want to hear. Rainmaker Software staff and the visiting owners, in this setting, tell the host owner what he needs to hear - no holds barred.

This six member group meets at each of the retail operations. Rainmaker Software prepares a financial analysis and summary profile of the host retailer prior to each meeting for the visiting retailers to review on their way to the host retailer's operation. After the meeting, notes are typed and sent to each group member.

Each member agrees to keep all discussions, notes and materials confidential and agrees not to exchange such information with any outside source. This is essential because of the nature of the discussions. A high level of trust develops among members.

Each member agrees to attend each meeting on a "dutch" basis. The host retailer must provide satisfactory meeting room accommodations but does not have any responsibility for any other expenses of the visiting retailers or Rainmaker Software staff.

Each meeting is two days in length, led by Bill Carr, and scheduled approximately four months apart. Meetings are arranged to avoid other scheduling conflicts so that all members are able to attend.

Appropriate training workbook will be provided.
